Scheduling

All visits are scheduled within a designated time window rather than an exact arrival time. This allows flexibility for traffic, weather conditions, and the individual needs of each pet. We always make every effort to arrive as close to the preferred time as possible and will notify clients of any significant delays.

Cancellations

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Same-day cancellations are typically charged at half the service rate. This policy helps ensure availability for all clients and fairly compensates reserved time.

Holidays

A holiday fee of $10 per visit applies on all federal holidays, as well as the day before and the day after each federal holiday (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday/Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day). Holiday availability is limited, and bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Access

Clients are responsible for providing safe and reliable access to their home at the time of service. This may include a key, lockbox code, or other agreed-upon entry method. Any changes to access instructions must be communicated in advance. Scallywag Pet Services LLC is not responsible for missed visits due to incorrect or inaccessible entry information.

Weather and Emergency

Scallywag Pet Services LLC prioritizes the safety of pets, clients, and caregivers at all times. Services may be modified, delayed, or canceled due to severe weather conditions, unsafe temperatures, natural disasters, or other emergencies. In such cases, we will communicate as promptly as possible regarding any schedule changes.

During extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather, walk lengths may be adjusted to ensure pet safety while still providing necessary care, such as potty breaks, feeding, and check-ins. If travel conditions are unsafe or access to a client’s home is restricted, services may be delayed or canceled without penalty to either party.

In the event of a pet emergency, Scallywag Pet Services LLC will make reasonable efforts to contact the client and designated emergency contact. If immediate veterinary care is required and the client cannot be reached, we are authorized to transport the pet to the designated veterinarian or nearest emergency clinic, with all associated costs being the responsibility of the client.
